How Big Do You Dream?
Here is an NPR report from one of my favorite reporters, Margot Adler. It's very interesting to see how some people view larger houses as a negative in regards to conservation and financial responsibility, whereas contractors say it's fueling the economy and if you can afford the loan, why not?
I was talking to a mortgage broker yesterday and he predicts that interest rates will be up to 8% by January of next year! I think this will take a huge bite out of the ever-expanding homes in the U.S.

The average American house size has more than doubled since the 1950s; it now stands at 2,349 square feet. Whether it's a McMansion in a wealthy neighborhood, or a bigger, cheaper house in the exurbs, the move toward ever large homes has been accelerating for years.
